We asked for an energy miracle and all what we are getting are lousy killer robots

If you have four minutes, turn down the horrible background music and watch this clip up to the end, which is truly revealing. So, maybe you were hoping that science would bring to us a technological miracle that could solve the energy problem. But this is what we are getting. Oh, wait.... at least this may solve the overpopulation problem. (source)

  3. Very useful things: if you were faced with the possibility of a stomach-shot from one of those little toys, would you join a street protest?

Combined with drones, easy social control.

There may be much need for that.

    1. Judging by the placement of the red "target acquisition" dot, the operators are being trained to take head shots, not stomach shots.

  5. In a fuel-constrained, food-constrained and climate-constrained world, these gizmos will be most useful. Let's just hope our gizmos are better than the bad guys' gizmos. (And that we're not the bad guys.)

At least these gizmos can aim at targets. Unlike dumb bombs for carpet bombing. Unlike poison "gas" attacks. (Grandma said Grandpa was a great singer before he got gassed so many times in France; he was speedy with his gas mask, but it didn't do a perfect job.)

  6. Brought to you from the same folks who engineered the Manhattan Project. Really Ugo, did you expect anything else here? The scientific community is a vassal of the military industrial complex, it has been so since Romans engineered Chariots. Scientists are whores for the military in general. Present company excepted of course.

  7. How many dollars waisted on some deadly toy you can stop by just closing your doors. This is just a toy. I'd hate to meet a true military version.

    1. You can find Russian battlefield versions on Youtube too: anti-aircraft, -tank and -person capabilities.

  8. But it also can communicate so stand offs between good guys and bad guys can be happily resolved. And maybe it even can be outfitted with solar panels !
